Hila Blum

Israeli author Hila Blum (1969) is a long-time editor of writers such as Etgar Keret, Amir Gutfreund, Eškol Nevo and Jigal Schwartz. She won the prestigious Israeli national Sapir literary prize in 2021 for her novel How to Love Your Daughter.

Hila Blum was born in Jerusalem in 1969. She lived in Hawaii for two years and in her early twenties in Paris and New York and in Israel. She started her professional career as a journalist and in recent years has been working as an editor for the leading publishing house Kinneret Zmora - Bitan in Israel. Her first novel The Visit was published in 2011 and became one of the most read novels in Israel immediately after its publication. How to Love Your Daughter, her second novel, published in 2021, won Israel's prestigious Sapir Literary Prize in the same year. Hila Blum lives and works in Jerusalem.
