Juraj Toman is the author of the middle generation of Slovak artists.

He comes from Trenčín, studied at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica and at the VŠVU in Bratislava - 2011. In 2014, he completed his doctoral studies at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica with prof. Ľudovít Hološka. Since 2014, he has been working as an assistant professor at the Department of Art and Education at the University of Applied Sciences in Nitra. In his work, he is interested in the phenomenon of time and space, which is physically connected to the process of painting. He draws his ideas from his surroundings. It uses a combination of approaches of plein air painting with photography, video, but also memory.
