He is engaged in literary studies and as translator, he worked as editor of Dotyky magazin
He completed one and a half month internship in the American University in Washington. From 1996 he taught at the University of Prešov. In 2003 he finished his PhD thesis Generic problems of translation. He is a translator of poetry, prose, plays, radio plays, essays, literature. In 1993 he was awarded by Slovak Literary Fund for selecting translation of John Keats, 1996 the anthology of beat generation poetry, in 2005 for the selection of the poetry of William Blake, in 2006 for English-Slovak and Slovakia-English dictionary. Currently he is a head od the Department of Slovak Studies, Slavonic philology and communication at the Faculty of Pavol Jozef Safarik University in Kosice. He lives with his wife and two children in Kosice.
